A brief word about who I am. I've been studying nutrition and health since around 1978 or somewhat earlier.  I have no formal degrees in the subject, but I have tried most of the major "fads" and experimented with many nutrients and products over the past 30 years. In fact, I've spent tens of thousands of dollars on nutritional products and programs.  I've been ill on a number of occasions, and I've managed to overcome illnesses.  I've experienced toxicity from supplements, which allowed me to improve their use, if I use them at all.  I've gotten extremely ill, in fact, from faddish "health" diets that are not applicable to everyone.  I am not only aware of veganism, for example, but was a lacto-ovo vegetarian for many years and then a vegan as well for a significant time.  Again, my discoveries have demonstrated to me that not every diet is proper for every person.

When you read my articles, please keep in mind that I am aware that, as in other issues, some of this material is evidently contentious, such as the subject of consumption of animal products. Again, I do not subscribe to fanaticism on either side. 

There is one piece of advice that can never be overstated: Everything in moderation. In my decades of observation, I have found that fanatics on any point of the spectrum tend not to be healthy. So, I hope there is room for all on this planet.
